Here are a few of my favorites spots that I photographed recently in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. Spas, high-end retail and restaurants have taken the limelight in the world of architecture and interiors.
My new travel books 'Globe-trotting' and 'Wanderlust' designed by Saputo Design (www.saputodesign.com) just came in. To request a copy, please email studio@jillpaider.com.
Had the pleasure of shooting The Bazaar by Jose Andres at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. Above are my favorites: Chef Aitor Lozano and the 'crab sliders'.
I've just started to edit my 'around the world' trip photos. Following are some of the architectural highlights. The trip included Turkey, Israel, the West Bank, Jordan, Qatar, Vietnam, China & Japan. Whew.
I photographed this stunning building by architect, Preston Scott Cohen. On top of being an architectural gem, the art installations are spectacular. Currently showing is Anslem Kiefer's 'Breaking of the Vessels.'
Here's a drive by shot, going from Aqaba to Petra in the deserted desert. My taxi driver, Moussa, kept me amused with stories in Arabic refusing to believe that I couldn't understand them.
The latest and greatest resort opening of 2012 - Naked Stables Private Reserve. It's a gorgeous luxury 'camp' that features earth huts and villas designed by Ben Wood.
Tokyo has amazing modern architecture to match its highly developed infrastructure. High end retail stores like the ones below are architectural works of art - clearly deemed as important as the items featured inside the store. Kenzo Tange's cathedral is one of the most beautiful modern structures in the city. Last but not least there's the Tsukiji fish market, home of legendary tuna auctions and precursor to the world's best sushi.
